Storm Water Damage

This Omro home experienced extensive damage to their finished attic gym space following summer storms.  The ceiling fell in, the insulation was saturated and dropping and the floor was saturated and getting the floor below wet.  The homeowner’s insurance company moved the claim to the Large Loss Department due to the severity of the damage.  Drywall and insulation were completely saturated and had lost their structural integrity.  They could not be dried in place and had to be removed. As a matter of fact, almost all the second floor and much of the first floored had to be gutted.  Along the way our technicians identified asbestos and immediately consulted with the homeowner’s insurance adjuster and asbestos containment was done.

The after photo shows the attic after remediation was complete but before any rebuilding took place.  As we’ve discussed in prior blog posts, remediation and rebuild are two different services and two different bills.  It is always important to make sure you have adequate insurance coverage to rebuild your structure after a loss.
